French films to have a strong presence at the European Film Awards

With four nominations for An Officer and a Spy and Portrait of a Lady on Fire, two for Les Misérables, and three animated features among the four nominees in this category, French cinema will put on a superb demonstration of its strength at the upcoming 32nd European Film Awards, at which Juliette Binoche will receive an award honoring her contribution to world cinema.

Founded in 1988 by the Euoprean Film Academy, the European Film Awards honor the best of European cinema, with awards voted on by its 3,600 members.

This year's awards ceremony will be held in Berlin on December 7, in the presence of Juliette Binoche, who will receive the prestigious European Achievement in World Cinema Award.
