Included among the 81 eligible submissions for the 2016 Oscar in the Best Foreign-Language Film category are 13 films involving France as a co-production partner. This is an added indication of the major role played by France in the global geopolitics of film production.
Besides Mustang (which will officially represent France, see photo), 12 films in which France has participated in co-production are competing in the list of submissions for the 2016 Oscar for Best foreign-Language Film. These co-productions include eight titles that have received funding support from the CNC: seven films benefit from the "Aide aux Cinémas du Monde" scheme and one film was granted the "Avance sur Recettes" aid scheme.
