In "Le Dimanche de Préférence", the poet Tonino Guerra, the screenwriter of Fellini Antoniono and Angelopoulos, has adapted some of his stories about his home region Emilia Romagna and the town of Rimini for four directors. "Le Dimanche de Préférence" is a film with four voices : it is both a compendium movie and a unique work that follows the rythm of the seasons and during which the characters in each tale finally come togeather. "Le Dimanche de Préférence" brings togeather several love stories and shows how hard it is to talk of love in a world that has turned its back on spiritually. Directed by four young Italian filmmakers, including the already renowned Giuseppe Tornatore, it features well-kown actors, such as Philippe Noiret, Ornella Muit and Bruno Ganz, young hopefuls such as Chiara Caselli, as well as a surprising manner of recognising what the film owes to the writer, born in Rimini, the town of "Amarcord"...
