Murder in the Maures Mountains
Synopsis
In the heart of the Sainte-Victoire mountain range, soldiers discover a body riddled with arrows during a military training exercise in the forest. Diane Giraud, the gendarmerie lieutenant in charge of the investigation, finds herself working alongside Captain Alex Lançon, a legal officer dispatched by the Army to assist with the gendarmerie’s investigation. During their investigation, Alex and Diane discover that the arrows are replicas of those fired by the “Black Archer.” A legendary local figure, the Black Archer is said to have roamed the entire region in 975 to defend the locals against the Barbary pirates of the time. But Alex and Diane aren’t just going to solve a police investigation. The two investigators, who seem to get along wonderfully, may end up discovering as much about themselves as they do about the victim…
