Hollywood, 1938. Panic has overtaken MGM. Two days before the shoot of The Wizard of Oz, the Very Short Actors Union goes on strike. And their demands are beyond comprehension. Producer Abraham Grossman, a tyrannical mogul unwilling to negotiate, tries by all means to replace these dwarves, essential to the film. Wacky B shots, threats of reprisals: nothing helps. In the impasse, he agrees to negotiate. Then begins with Alastair MacGrady, the tiny union rep, a titanic tug-of-war whose outcome remains uncertain.
