Synopsis
For the past 25 years, the polar sailing vessel Vagabond has carried out scientific missions in the Arctic. On board, France Pinczon du Sel and Éric Brossier have become legendary sailors. As part of a new geological expedition led by Laurent Geoffroy of the University of Brittany, France tells the story of a Greenland undergoing profound transformation.
As a result of global warming, the ice is revealing land that has never been observed before, offering scientists the opportunity for a groundbreaking mission: to understand the origins of plate tectonics. A three-year project supported by the CNRS and the French Polar Institute Paul-Émile Victor (IPEV). An adventure that began three years ago and will conclude as a family affair, accompanied by their daughters Aurore and Léonie, with a return to Brest, Vagabond’s home port, where it has not returned in 15 years.
