Synopsis
For historians and archaeologists, the world's greatest museum is underwater at depth unreachable to human explorers. At these depths there is no way to excavate and record the remains of the several hundred thousand shipwrecks estimated to be lying underwater. But today, a new era of deep-sea research is opening up thanks to a state-of-the-art humanoid archaeologist robot, named Ocean one K, developed by the Robotic lab of Standford University. Our film follows the first true test dive mission carried out in the Mediterranean over five wrecks ranging from 100 m all the way to 850 m depth, and captures the record setting moment and the scientific and human adventure along the way. The archaeological conquest of the abyss has begun.
