Synopsis
A beautiful and ambitious young bourgeois woman, Jeanne Poisson became Madame d'Etiolles thanks to a marriage arranged by her mother. She set out to conquer the charming Louis XV, and they fell madly in love with each other. The King did not care about the scandal caused by the arrival of this commoner at court. Becoming the Marquise de Pompadour, she was his most loyal ally.
A patron of the Enlightenment and the arts, the king's mistress who became, against all odds, the ‘sovereign’ of one of the most powerful nations in the world, Madame de Pompadour was the ‘first Lady of France’ before her time.
