Synopsis
Bourbon Island, 1806.
After a devastating cyclone, the Bellevue plantation is ravaged. Although on the brink of ruin, the owner Charles Bellevue decides to fight to rebuild his business.
As a reward for his composure during the cyclone, a young slave named Isaac is promoted to commander. From now on, he would be the one cracking the whip. After years of loyal service, Isaac might one day be freed and become a free man.
In the meantime, the young man found himself in a detestable position. The situation was made all the more difficult by the fact that Charles Bellevue was not only his master.
He was also his father.
