Synopsis
In the suburbs of Lille, Stéphane runs a tobacconist's shop with his father Maurice, a retired soldier from whom he has never really emancipated himself. Stifled in his relationship, Stéphane does not dare leave Elise, his wife, a solicitor, and has recently started a relationship with Leila, a physiotherapist and mother of two children. Together, they plan a better life. Everything changes when Sofiane, Leila's fifteen-year-old son, robs Maurice's shop, unaware of his mother's love for Stéphane. The old man, violently attacked, pulls out a gun and shoots him dead. The police arrest Maurice. Opinion is divided on the question of self-defence, fuelling tensions in the neighbourhood. Stéphane too must take sides: support his father, defended by Elise, or protect the woman he loves.
