Synopsis
Through a combination of archive footage, film extracts and readings, the film invites us on a universal journey into the memory built up around Anne Frank and the Shoah.
Who was Anne Frank? Her literary approach and her impertinent adolescence had often been erased in the various appropriations of the Diary.
Adapted from the non-fiction book ‘‘Quand tu écouteras cette chanson’’, praised both in France and abroad, by the writer Lola Lafon who in August 2021 spent a night at the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, in the very annexe where the young teenager lived in hiding with her family from July 1942 until their arrest on 4 August 1944, the film questions the collective memory and sheds a new light on the teenager who wanted to be a writer before becoming an icon.
