Inspired by true events, SAMBRE (named after the river from northern France where the crimes were committed) tells the story of a serial rapist who assaulted nearly sixty women between the 80s and 2018. The series follows the case through the eyes of 6 protagonists: victim, judge, mayoress, scientists, policeman, rapist - within different time periods, showing how unsuccessful the police was to catch the culprit, as they were unable to believe that it could be someone they all knew. SAMBRE is a thriller that recounts a social phenomenon, a period; a tipping of the scales in the sexual abuse arena, from the 1980s to the #metoo era.
