An evocation of the tumultuous life of the Sergei Parajanov, an avant-garde Soviet filmmaker, a poet, visual artist, and dabbler opposed to all forms of authority.
Director of cult films, including Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors and The Colour of Pomegranates, his anti-conformism and his desire for independence, in a country that rejected dissenting artists, landed him in Soviet prisons for five years.
Although forever marked by this experience, Parajanov nevertheless maintained his indestructible sense of humor, his eccentricity, and above all, his passnon for art and beauty.
