Synopsis
Sumru is preparing a masters in ethnomusicology at Istanbul University. She settles in south-western Turkey for several months in order to study Anatolian elegies and their history. In Diyarbakir, she encountes Ahmet, who is selling pirate DVDs containing footage of interviews with Kurd survivors. Sumru is haunted by the painful memory of her first love, a Kurd who mysteriously disappeared. In Ahmet's company and in the tragic context of this war that is still not acknowledged to this day, she must confront her past and the history of her country.
