Synopsis
1993. The Bosnian War. Marko, a Serbian soldier, saves Haris, a young cigarette vendor, from being beaten up by three other soldiers, and pays the price for this gesture. Twelve years later, Marko's father is working on a church's reconstruction when the son of one of the soldiers turns up looking for a job. In Belgrade, one of Marko's friends, a heart surgeon, must operate on a man who was the leader of the gang. In Germany, Haris, who leads a peaceful life with his family, encounters Marko's former girlfriend, who is trying to get away from her violent husband.
