Synopsis
A small, deserted house in the middle of the Algerian countryside.
Ouardia has bured her son, Tarik, there. Tarik was a soldier who was perhaps killed by his own brother, Ali, a leader of an Islamic resistant faction. Quardia is watched over by one of Ali's men, who has lost his arim in an explosion. In this world on edge, stalled by drought and where suffering is everywhere, life slowly takes over once again thanks to the garden that Quardia will make bloom, by dint of courage, work and obstinacy, thanks to the guardian, also a victim, who is finally treated like a surrogate son by Quardia, and thanks, above all, to the arrival of Malia's baby after Malia, who was loved by both brothers, dies in childbirth.
But Quardia's trials and tribulations don't end there. Ali, the accursed son, turns up, seriously wounded.
