The Bridge of San Luis Rey
Synopsis
Midday, Friday July 20, 1714. The most beautiful bridge in Peru cracks into pieces, plunging five travelers to their death. Brother Juniper, witness to the scene, leads an investigation so as to answer this question: was the presence of these five strangers on the bridge at the moment it broke apart and act of God or a simple fact of chance? Convinced that this accident is a perfect example of divine intervention, the monk delves into the lives of the strangers in order to understand the mystery that bound them together.
