When their mother dies, two brothers and their sister learn that they won’t get their inheritance unless they undertake a pilgrimage from Puy-en-Velay to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle. Unfortunately they hate each other as much as they hate walking. Nevertheless, they head out on the road, lured by the prospect of money.
They hitch up with their guide in Puy, and discover that they’ll be walking with a group of six other people, including a young beur (person born in France of North African parents) who has convinced his naïve cousin that he’s taking him to Mecca, whereas he’s chasing after a young pilgrim who’s the love of his life.
The road is long, the misunderstandings, conflicts, love affairs, dreams, and inner journeys of the nine characters unfold against the backdrop of astounding landscapes all the way to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle.

About
This charming road movie chronicles a comic pilgrimage by a lively group of wayward travelers, including three estranged siblings who want to collect an inheritance from their late mother. The two brothers and their sister learn that they will gain access to their mother’s fortune only once they have completed together, on foot, the pilgrimage to the holy city of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. They hate the idea but start the trip regardless, lured by greed. They meet their guide, a young father struggling to keep his family intact from afar, as well as six other pilgrims, each a little kooky, and each with their own reason for making the trip. The group includes a young Arab who makes his ingenuous cousin believe they are going to Mecca, while he pursues the love of his life, and an older divorcee who has a secret of her own.
