Helvetia French Film Festival

The Helvetia French Film Festival will take place from September 28 through October 2, 2005, in the bilingual city of Biel/Bienne, located on the border of French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland. Fourteen French artists will be attending the event.

The opening ceremony will be held September 29, in the presence of the Dardenne brothers, winners of the 2005 Cannes Palme d'Or with their film, "The Child."
Twenty-five French films, including five titles presented at this year's Cannes Film Festival, will be screened in original version, with nineteen productions subtitled in German.

The following artists, among others, will be welcomed at Biel/Bienne:

Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne for "The Child"
Melvil Poupaud for "Time to Leave"
Arnaud Larrieu and Jean-Marie Larrieu for "Paint or Make Love"
Christian Carion for "Merry Christmas"
Stéphane Brizé for "Je ne suis pas là pour être aimé"
Coline Serreau and Pascal Legitimus for "Saint-Jacques... La Mecque"
