“Crime contre l'humanité” is a contemporary political thriller adapted from “The Statement,” a novel by Brian Moore. The film casts light upon gray areas in political and religious establishments.
Set in France today, the story concerns Pierre Brossard, a war criminal back in his youth. After escaping prosecution, Brossard lived a life of anonymity protected by right wing political elements from deep within the Catholic Church. An ambitious judge and a scrupulous colonel reopen a fifty-year-old case in order to track down Brossard. Meanwhile, mysterious killers are on the fugitive’s tail, determined to wipe him out before he’s arrested.
