...And They Lived Happily Ever After

    Synopsis

It begins with three men. They’re in their early forties and are taking stock of their lives.
Vincent lives with Gabrielle and Georges lives with Nathalie. They each have a five year old son and feel as though they’re suffocating, becoming staid and have even been trapped by a society that pushed them into working, getting married and having children.
They’re envious of the third man of the trio. Fred is free, single. He goes out with beautiful women and doesn’t live by the clock. Naturally, Fred dreams of only one thing: to be like Vincent and Georges – settled and married with kids – and to try at last to give a meaning to his life.
But we learn that Vincent is having a relationship with another woman, “a mistress.” No one knows, none of his friends, know about the relationship. But Gabrielle does. But he doesn’t know that Gabrielle knows. From then on, we follow her. We see her coming to terms with the situation. She loves her husband and waits for him patiently.
She’s a real estate agent and we find her at the end of a rather calm day in Virgin Megastore where she is listening to a disk beside a man she doesn’t know. Her imagination begins to run wild, the way it does each time she gets a client to visit an apartment, when she imagines another life, for better or for worse… without the man she loves.
