“The Weeping Meadow” is the first film in a “trilogy that attempts to capture the 20th century through three stories that capture three moments of an intense love story.” The film begins when the Red Army triumphantly enters Odessa in 1919, provoking the exodus of all the foreigners, including a large Greek community, living there and who, during the October Revolution, joined forces with the White Russians. The story follows the refugees to Greece, a country reeling from a series of Balkan conflicts and World War I.
