Three men in the Brussels-Moscow train.
They don’t know each other, but are brought together by the fact that they’re all reading Dostoevsky’s The Idiot. Their names are Benoît, Charles, and Jérôme.
Once in Moscow, they say their goodbyes, promising to see each other again.
Fifteen days later – during which time we see them involved in mysterious activities – the three travelers meet again in an old hotel dating from the Soviet era. Two other friends, Héloïse and Benjamin, join them for an impromtu party. Benoît disappears to visit Naoum, an old friend, who reads a few pages of The Idiot to him.
After a final melancholy conversation between Benoît and Charles, Benoît announces that he’s leaving for Paris.
