Synopsis
Marianao, a neighborhood in Havana, Cuba. Dayana, a young woman fresh out of prison, wants to clear up the mystery surrounding the death of her brother, Pitchi. The young man’s inert body was found lying beside a road. The police conclude his death was an accident, but Dayana receives an anonymous phone call that reveals how wrong the police is.
Dayana’s own investigation leads to a gang leader called El Calvo who exercises his supernatural law over the neighborhood’s inhabitants. She infiltrates his gang, the Angelitos Negros, whose main activities are prostitution, drugs and illegal fights. El Calvo makes no bones about his machismo, misogyny and brutality.
The pimp’s prized jewel, a medallion of a bull, leads Dayana to the truth. She and her associates, the Rollers gang, are undaunted by El Calvo’s power and, making the most of his weaknesses, will end up defeating him.
