Synopsis
Roman troops invade Gaul in 52 BC, raping and pillaging the Gallic people who Caesar wants to enslave. Celtill, the chief of the Arvernes tribe, refuses to surrender, is killed and his body burnt in the town square. Vercingétorix, Celtill’s son, witnesses the event.
Raised and trained in combat by the Archdruid Gutuart, Vercingétorix wants to return to Gergovia and fulfill his father’s dream of uniting all the tribes of Gaul under one king. Hoodwinked by Caesar, appalled by the cowardice and treachery of the Gallic chiefs, Vercingétorix decides to fight for Gaul’s freedom.
