Synopsis
" Organic " is an urban melodrama. Paul and Marguerite have been in love for five years. Their love is organic, visceral and strong, constantly veering from the real to the absolute and from the absolute to the tragic.

“Bertrand Bonello builds up a fragmented narrative in which each piece seems all the more self-contained because it does not point to any clear desire to demonstrate or say anything. ‘Organic’ is the right word, then, to describe the movie’s proliferation of cells. The smells of zebras or beer, the lights of halogen lamps or rainy mornings, feelings of unease, closely kept secrets and dirty linen brutally laid bare, this feverish corpus is wracked by a whole irksome biology that can no longer be reasoned with. A French-language film nourished by American musical influences that runs counter to the feelgood factor so often found in French movies these days, ‘Organic’ sets out to take stock of our lives with a cruelty and individualistic detachment seldom seen in the cinema.”
