About
This film is a post mortem. The body being autopsied is the corpse of love, the love of a mother who goes so far as to sacrifice one of her sons, just as Abraham was about to sacrifice Isaac. It is also the love of a man for a woman who is, unfortunately, his brother’s wife. And finally it’s the love of an old woman for a younger man who drops in on her life unexpectedly and arouses a host of dormant feelings. “Préférence” is a therefore a love story. Or more precisely, a story of loves. (Grégoire Delacourt)
