Marie is a modern-day teenager. Born at the end of the seventies, she has grown up far from the certainties of the previous generation. Today, as she reaches womanhood, everything has to be reinvented and redefined.
So Marie gets up and goes. She leaves her single-parent mother and her small country town. In the company of a small-time crook, who has also been tossed round by life, she reaches Brussels where others hopeful traps await her. She has an appointment on Rue de l'Harmonie, but it turns out to be another dead-end. But at least she meets Tonio, the crook's seven-year-old son, who very quickly becomes an orphan. To keep him out of the euphemistically named "Happiness House", Marie rises to the challenge once again. Despite a child in hand and one on the way, she just can't manage to imagine the future. Maybe it's because of that, that she invents an "elsewhere". When you've only got love for luggage, elsewhere is as beautiful a word as tomorrow...
