Synopsis
"My name is Léolo, Léolo Lozone. As far back as I remember, smells and light have welded my earliest memories togeather... The members of my family were like characters in a novel, I spoke about them as strangers. My mother had the power of a large ship sailing on an ocean of sickness. She was warm and loving. I loved it when she enveloped me in her fat, the smell of her sweat calmed me. My father was convinced that a shit a day kept the doctor away. Every Friday he gave us a shock treatment of laxatives to purify us of all the world's diseases. Then there were my sisters Rita and Nanette, and Ferdinand, my brother, whom I loved for the tenderness of his ignorance. My grandfather, who wasn't an evil man, had nevertheless tried to kill me twice already... It was as if the heritage of this granfather had hit the family hard and that a little extra cell had taken root in everyone's brain. We were rarely altogether at home but when we were, we looked like a real family..."
