Synopsis
In 1791, Bardo, a somewhat naive 18-year old from a bourgeois Viennese family, tries to become a member of the artistocracy by presenting himself at the castle of Alexandre Plant, an inventor. As he has fallen into the hands of the decadent nobility, Bardo's stay becomes a cruel rite of passage. Stripped of his illusions, Bardo is also deprived of his childlike spirit and his personal freedom...
