The Enigma of the Great Menhir

The Enigma of the Great Menhir

A Short film by Marie-Anne Sorba, Jean-Marc Cazenave

Produced by Fred Hilgemann Films

Production year : 2016

    Synopsis

7,000 years ago, the people who lived on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean erected thousands of large stones on which they carved symbols, whose meaning had always remained a mystery. But a team of researchers under the direction of the archeologist Serge Cassen (CNRS) managed to decipher this symbolic language. This discovery, achieved using new technology, brings us a new perspective on Europe in prehistoric times. Somewhere between history and mythology, a story emerges of the conquerors of the oceans.
