Synopsis
Eighty-year-old Jacques, a former academic, is to receive an award for a publication he has written. But the rediscovery of a letter from Émile that has lain unread for sixty years prompts him to drop everything and escape to his old friend's seaside house. Jacques gives himself over to his memories of the past and, little by little, reinterprets his own life through the lens of that of Émile.
