Six French films produced or majority co-produced by France will be included in the 2011 Critics' Week selection.
The La Semaine de la Critique - Cannes - 2011 sidebar at the Cannes International Film Festival opens May 12 with a screening of Declaration of War by Valérie Donzelli, in which the director stars alongside Jérémie Elkaïm, while Pourquoi tu pleures ? by Katia Lewcowicz, starring Benjamin Biolay and Emmanuelle Devos, will close the event on May 20.
The actress Eva Ionesco's debut film Je ne suis pas une princesse, starring Isabelle Huppert, will be presented at the Critics' Week 50th Anniversary screening.
17 Girls by Delphine and Muriel Coulin will represent France in the feature film competition, while Alexis Ivanovitch, Vous êtes mon héros by Guillaume Gouix and Junior by Julia Ducournau are the French titles selected in the short film competition.
