36th Césars: many films share awards
Césars were awarded to Of Gods and Men, Roman Polanski, Eric Elmosino and Sara Forestier.
Xavier Beauvois' s film scooped up three Césars, among which the most prestigious Best Film award, along with Best Actor for Michael Lonsdale and Best Cinematography.
The Ghost Writer earned Roman Polanski the Best Director award. The film received three other Césars: Best Adaptated Screenplay, Best Music and Best Editing.
Gainsbourg: Je t'aime... Moi non plus by Johann Star garnered three Césars: Best First Film, Best Actor for Eric Elmosino, and Best Sound.
The surprise of the ceremony was Sara Forestier, awarded Best Actress for her performance in The Names of Love by Michel Leclerc, which also one a César for Best Screenplay.
Best Female Newcomer went to Leila Bekhti for All That Glitters and Edgar Ramirez for Carlos.
New to the Césars this year was a Best Animated Film category; the award went to Slyvain Chomet's The Illusionist. Logorama, another animated film, carried off the Best Short Film award.
Oceans was named Best Documentary.
