The 72nd San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF) ended on Saturday, September 28 with a ceremony at which the supreme award, the Golden Shell, went to the most French of Catalan filmmakers, Albert Serra, for his documentary Afternoons of Solitude, co-produced by France.
Actor Pierre Lottin won the Silver Shell for Best Supporting Performance for his portrayal of an ambiguous character in François Ozon's When Fall Is Coming, which also won Ozon (and co-writer Philippe Piazzo) Best Screenplay.
The Audience Award went to Emmanuel Courcol's The Marching Band, another film at San Sebastián starring Lottin.

Last but not least, Mariana Saffon's work-in-progress Mar de Leva, (co-produced by France by June Films) won the Artekino International Prize at the XIII Europe/Latin America Co-production Forum Awards.
