Since 2017, UniFrance has been working to promote virtual reality films. Now, in cooperation with Arte, we have taken a new step forward in this commitment: to enable the viewing of 360° VR videos on our website.
For this year's 8th edition of MyFrenchFilmFestival.com, UniFrance opened a new festival section dedicated to interactive works. To make this possible, we added a VR video player facility to our website unifrance.org to support the viewing of virtual reality productions.
This new development allows French producers of VR works who are members of UniFrance to benefit from an extensive network of professional contacts around the world, thereby improving the international visibility of their creations. For this purpose, the Arte European cultural television network provided its support by making its technology available to us. A pioneer in the field of digital productions, Arte has for many years now stood out for the level of quality and high standards of its initiatives supporting the VR sector.
Thanks to this new partnership, seminal VR productions such as Notes on Blindness: Into Darkness, I, Philip and I Saw the Future - VR are now accessible for viewing by professionals in the industry.
A large number of works that have been selected at, or won awards at, events around the world are available for viewing, including Alteration, Kinoscope, PLANET ∞, S.E.N.S VR, to name but a few.
