French films reap a bumper crop of awards at San Sebastian

It was an excellent year for France at this year's 63rd San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF), which concluded on September 26 with seven prizes awarded to French productions across the various festival sections.

Scooping up the Special Jury Prize, Best Cinematography Award, Best Screenplay Award, and New Directors' Prize, French films put in a shining performance at the most recent San Sebastian International Film Festival (SSIFF), which held its impressive closing ceremony on September 26.

Silver Shell for Best Director: The White Knights by Joachim Lafosse (Belgium, France)

Jury Prize for Best Screenplay: Arnaud Larrieu and Jean-Marie Larrieu for 21 Nights with Pattie (France)

Special Mention from the Jury and FIPRESCI Prize: The Apostate by Federico Veiroj (Spain, Uruguay, France)

Kutxabank - New Directors' Prize: The New Kid by Rudi Rosenberg (France)

Horizontes Award and EZAE Prize: Paulina by Santiago Mitre (Argentina, Brazil, France)

Audience Award to the European Film : Mountains May Depart by Jia Zhang-Ke (China, France, Japan)
