Count Max

A Feature film by Christian de Sica

Production year : 1992

A warm, endearing, Italian-style romantic comedy. Alfredo is a car mechanic. The garage that he has to buy is about to slip through his fingers because he's short of money. Around this time he meets a gorgeous model, Isabelle. They have a whirlwind romance in Rome, at the Hotel de la Ville. For the first time in his life Alfredo rubs shoulders with high society. Alfredo tells his old friend Max the count, a ruined gambler, about his fling with Isabelle and his money troubles. Max decides to help Alfredo by introducing him into high society under his own name, which used to carry a lot of prestige at one time...
