In eastern Belgium, in the Land of Herve, a few miles from the municipality of Voeren, entangled in violent linguistic clashes, the farming world is going through a period of transformation. Either it becomes industrialized or disappears, adapts to EEC standards or become marginalized. That's the historic backdrop. The emotional backdrop is as equally dramatic: a father dies.
