Synopsis
A new generation of traffickers, known as “narcobandits,” has broken with the old codes of organized crime, replacing calculated violence with constant, highly visible brutality. Assault rifles and public shootings have become routine, used not only to settle disputes but to intimidate entire neighborhoods.
This evolution reflects deeper shifts: younger, less structured networks, a culture of immediate dominance, and a loss of long-term perspective. The report questions what drives these young men beyond money, to embrace a path defined by power, fear, and a life expectancy that is often tragically short.
