Synopsis
Who knows Alice Guy? This French woman, born in 1873, was nothing less than the first female film director! She was the one who conceived, imagined, and sensed that cinema would become an art form and the best way to tell stories. With nearly a thousand films to her name, the most prolific career of her time, and the only one spanning both sides of the Atlantic, this pioneer was literally erased by film historians during her lifetime. This film paints a fascinating portrait of a passionate and visionary woman who never stopped conquering new territories, ultimately pursuing one last dream: to reclaim her destiny. It finally gives her a voice to tell her side of the story and reclaim her place in history. Based on Alice Guy's personal and unpublished archives, period archives, her films, and animated illustrations by Catel Muller.
