Synopsis
In 2025, the city of Avignon celebrates 25 years as European Capital of Culture and 30 years as a UNESCO World Heritage site with a major exhibition by Jean-Michel Othoniel: Othoniel Cosmos, or The Ghosts of Love. Inspired by Petrarch’s Canzoniere, this poetic constellation of 220 artworks, 160 of them new spans ten major sites across the city with the Palais des Papes as the radiant core. The exhibition also includes a unique multidisciplinary performance in the Cour d'honneur, created in collaboration with the Festival d’Avignon, choreographed by Carolyn Carlson and featuring Hugo Marchand, star dancer with the Paris Opera Ballet.
