Synopsis
“The greatest of all my experiences! This is how Adolf Hitler described his 4 years on the battlefields of Flanders and Artois. The heroic account he gave after the First World War enabled him to build the myth of a courageous, epic and daring war - the foundation of all Nazi propaganda.
But wouldn't Hitler have distorted, arranged or even invented certain glorious episodes from a soldier's life that was, all in all, banal and terribly ordinary? Wasn't Hitler the first revisionist of his own history?
Using the testimonies of historians and specialists, accounts and documents from the period, the film attempts to put the myth to the test of facts, dismantling piece by piece the events, anecdotes and stories recounted by the future dictator and used to build his own legend.
