Synopsis
The Truyère and Goul valleys are prey depopulation and aging inhabitants. Landlocked, isolated from the part of Aveyron that enjoys diversified and prosperous economic activity as well as an unemployment rate lower than the national average, the valleys' main sources of income are from livestock farming and a craft industry whose activity is based on the demand of Aveyronnais in Paris whose attachment to their home region is weakening. Living and working in the countryside can only become more and more problematic, unless determined action can stop and then reverse this decline.
