The Amateur
Synopsis
Père, my great-grandfather (1899 - 1990), was a storekeeper in Guérande, in Loire-Atlantique. I also learned, a few years ago, that he ran the city's parish movie theater, Le Balzac, and that he'd made amateur films after World War II. I didn't know Père, but he'd kept a considerable archive collection which allows his story to be retraced.
