Synopsis
A French teacher with a Turkish background is sent by the European Community to a small Crimean Tatar village in the middle of the harsh Anatolian plateau.
The villagers' land is in danger. It is going to be seized by a wholesaler who has lent then money to irrigate the village - a project that was never completed.
To avoid this threat, the teacher joins forces with the village mayor, Hodja, who is elderly and a little mad. He will help him realise his crazy project of planting a vineyard on this arid land.
