On November 23, 2008, Italy is torn in two by the fate of Eluana Englaro, a young woman who has been in a coma for 17 years. The Italian courts have just authorized Beppino Englaro, her father, to stop the drip feed that has been keeping his daughter alive. In this political and media storm, feelings flare up and beliefs and ideologies clash.
Maria, an activist of Movement for Life, demonstrates in front of the clinic where Eluana is hospitalized, while in Rome, her father senator hesitates to vote the proposed law opposing the court's decision. Elsewhere, a famous actress incessantly believes that her daughter, who has also been in an irreversible coma for years, will regain consciousness. And Rosa wants to end her life, but a young doctor full of hope uses all his powers to prevent her from doing so.
