Synopsis
After fifteen years in prison, Jo returns to find his neigborhood has changed completely and the world no longer works by the same rules as those in place when he was put behind bars. How will he ever fit back in?
Director Alain Minier spent all his childhood in Ménilmontant, in Paris, and has now made a film that is both a thriller and a sociological study, depicting the reality of this neighborhood, with its poetry and hardships, life force and difficulties, such as the rapid development of deliquency at a very young age.
Fast-paced and starring popular French actors Olivier Marchal and Smaïn, Jo's Neighborhood encourages us to reflect upon the world of today and each person's responsabilities. It is inspired by a true story.
