Synopsis
What remains of the Battle of Algiers in the collective memory? A military victory over the the FLN. But also a huge political and moral defeat that sealed the fate of French Algeria. A defeat of honor and ethics that revealed the French army's use of torture. Even today, the wounds are far from healed. But we can attempt to recount with honesty the saga of the Battle of Algiers, with its heroes and traitors, its friendships and hatreds, its contradictions between humanism and barbarism, on one side like the other.
