Synopsis
Eldy, a junior high school professor aged forty, is going through an existential crisis.
After coping with violence and bloodshed in Jenine, where he was a reservist in the Israeli army, he decides to tell the school’s headmaster that he wants to give up teaching.
Apart from his mid-life crisis, he’s traumatized by the sudden death of his friend, also a reservist, who was shot in front of his eyes by a sniper while they were both on surveillance duty. Eldy’s wife, a psychologist, suggests that he takes a vacation to get a change of scene and heal his wounds.
Like the hero of “Mariage Blanc,” Haïm Bouzaglo’s 1988 feature, Eldy sets out on a new journey, an inner voyage, incognito in his own country…
